Google access and campaign data

When you join a campaign, Chrome asks you to authorize read-only Google Sheets access. The Google permission is spreadsheets.readonly, which can authorize reading spreadsheets your Google account can access. The extension itself requests only the Sheet IDs and ranges you configure or accept in a campaign invitation. It does not edit spreadsheets.

The extension uses a Google access token supplied by Chrome and sends it to the Google Sheets API over HTTPS to perform those reads. Tokens are managed by Chrome and are not written to the extension's local storage. The extension does not ask for your Google or LinkedIn password or retrieve your Google profile or email address.

Campaign data includes the campaign name, Sheet ID and range, approved LinkedIn post URLs, labels, post dates, active flags, and notes. Only rows explicitly marked active are offered for review. Do not put confidential or unrelated personal information in campaign notes.

What stays in your browser

The extension uses Chrome's local extension storage for:

• Campaign configuration, authorization status, setup status, and refresh results.
• A temporary list of approved posts. This list expires for use after 15 minutes and is cleared when Chrome restarts.
• Post-opening history: the post URL and ID, associated campaign labels and notes, first and last opening times, and the number of times you opened a post through the helper.

Opening history is separate from the temporary post list and can retain its associated metadata until you reset local data or uninstall. The extension does not read your general browser history, monitor unrelated pages, or read your LinkedIn feed. Its history records only posts opened through the helper.

Where information is sent

The extension has no developer-operated data server, analytics, advertising, or telemetry. The developer does not receive your campaign contents or opening history and does not sell this data.

Google receives the authorized Sheet requests necessary to provide the feature. When you choose to open a post, LinkedIn receives a normal browser visit and may use your existing LinkedIn session. Those services process information under their own privacy policies.

An invitation code contains campaign settings, including the Sheet ID, but no access token. Sharing the code does not grant Sheet access; the organizer controls that access through Google Sheets sharing permissions.

Limited use

LinkedIn Advocacy Helper's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

The extension uses data only to provide its disclosed campaign and manual post-review features, consistent with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy. It does not use or transfer data for advertising, unrelated profiling, creditworthiness, or lending. It does not send campaign data to a developer service for human review.

Your controls and deletion

You can stop manual assist, disconnect Google, reset all local extension data, or uninstall. Resetting local data also clears the extension's cached Google authorization in Chrome. You can revoke the app's Google access in your Google account's third-party connections settings.

Organizers can remove a participant's Viewer permission from a Sheet to prevent future reads. Removing Sheet access does not remotely delete information already stored in that participant's browser; they can reset or uninstall to remove it.

This page describes the extension, not the separate data practices of Chrome, Google, LinkedIn, or the website hosting provider. This notice page contains no forms, analytics scripts, or embedded trackers added by the developer; the hosting provider may process ordinary request information to serve it.
